In spite of the fact that we're anticipating the remodel to start sometime in May/June, I haven't been able to stop myself from buying new cookbooks. There were just so many good-looking April releases, and I thought to myself, "what's another book to pack?" We must be about 10 additional books deep and I definitely haven't followed the one book in-one book out policy.
Even worse, so many good hardcover cookbooks are stacked on my shelves, but the one I surprisingly want to cook from is Food Between Friends. I was not at all prepared to like Jesse Ferguson's cookbook... I mean, he was funny on Modern Family, but why would I care what he has to say about food?
Turns out that when his cookbook includes recipes like:
A) Sweet and Sticky Orange Cardamom Rolls
B) Buckwheat Waffles with Poppy Seed Lemon Curd
C) Oatmeal Cream Pie Muffins
D) Citrus Baked Fish with Watercress Pesto
E) Honey-Garlic Grilled Chicken with Pickled Chiles
F) Coconut-Ginger Braised Short Ribs
G) Ground Beef & Pickle Tacos
H) Grilled Skirt Steak with Pineapple Salsa
I) Chermoula-Roasted Broccolini with Tahini Dressing
J) Not Your Church Lady's Strawberry Semifreddo
I want to make them all. Clearly, since I couldn't narrow down the options to a conveniently-sized list. What do you think I should make? It's not going to be a problem to test out three of these recipes!
I am voting for C and F!
I vote for A, E and J
I made C, the Oatmeal Cream Pie Muffins, this morning for breakfast. While they came together super fast, I have to say I wasn’t over the moon with them and I wouldn’t make them again, which is not what I expected out of that recipe title.
Coming up next, we’ll tackle the cardamom rolls & the grilled chicken for a set of 3...
