Caleb moves to San Francisco this week!!!
That's really all I need to say, right? He specifically requested that I try my hand at baked falafel and homemade gyros. It took some hunting and the best book I found is called Delights from the Garden of Eden. It's out of print and when I checked it was being sold for $999 used. Luckily, the SF library is the best library.... anywhere.... and they have copy for me to borrow.
Made in India is also here as an option because I love cooking Indian food and it's a cookbook of the month pick that people have been raving about.
Thanks for voting!
A) Oven-roasted Chicken Tikka from Made in India
B) Chicken in Pickling Spices from Made in India
C) Slow-cooked Lamb and Spinach Curry from Made in India
D) Baked Falafel from Delights from Delights from the Garden of Eden
E) Shredded Roasted Meat (Gyro Pitas) from Delights from the Garden of Eden
F) the Pregnant Chicken from Delights from Delights from the Garden of Eden
I'm torn between Caleb's request of D and a level of curiosity with the recipe title of F. What on earth is pregnant chicken??? I vote for both!
Love the idea of a recipe from an out of print book that would cost $999! Isn't price gouging illegal? Since my brain is a bit addled these days, I'll just say...D, E. or F! Sorry to be so indecisive...
I am interested in A, D & E!
Thanks for voting! Together you guys all favored the baked falafel among your multiple choices, so that will be the one I post first!
Pregnant chicken is chicken stuffed both in the cavity and between the skin and breast meat with a mixture of spiced rice, nuts, and currants.
